Shipping
We ship from our warehouse in Plainsboro, New Jersey to street addresses in the continental United States. We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, APO/FPO addresses, or outside the US.
- $12.95 flat rate per order, any number of bags.
- Free on orders over $99.
- 2–5 business days in transit after dispatch. Longer to the West Coast.
- Orders placed before 12 pm Eastern on a business day are usually handed to the carrier the next business day.
You get a tracking number by email the moment the label is created. A 20 lb bag is heavy freight for a residential carrier — if nobody is home, most carriers will leave it. Tell us in the order notes if that is a problem and we will ask for a signature.
Returns and damaged bags
If the bag arrives damaged
Photograph it, including the outer carton, and email the photos to info@velanfoods.com within 7 days of delivery. We replace damaged bags at our cost. You do not need to ship anything back.
If the rice is not right
Rice is a food product, so we cannot resell an opened bag — but we are not going to argue with you about a bad one. If a bag has an off smell, is infested, or is clearly not the variety on the label, tell us within 30 days and we will replace it or refund it, your choice.
If you changed your mind
Unopened bags can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the product price. Return shipping is yours to pay, and the original shipping charge is not refunded. Email us first so we can give you the right return address.
Wrong item sent
Our mistake, our cost. We ship the correct rice immediately and send a prepaid label for the wrong one.
Wholesale terms
- Minimum order 25 bags, mixed varieties permitted.
- Freight is quoted to your delivery ZIP before you commit. Liftgate and inside delivery available at extra cost.
- Prepayment on the first order. Net 15 or Net 30 considered after two completed orders.
- Shortages or damage on a pallet must be noted on the delivery receipt at the time of delivery and reported within 3 business days.
- Wholesale orders are not returnable for change of mind.
Product information
All Vetri rice is a Product of India, packed under FSSAI licence 12426999000362 and imported by Velan Foods LLC. Every variety we sell is vegetarian.
Allergen notice: made in a facility that also processes peanuts, tree nuts, soy milk and sesame. If you have a severe allergy to any of those, please take that into account.
Rice is an agricultural product. Grain length, colour and cooking behaviour vary a little between harvests. Nutrition figures printed on the bag are typical values for the variety.
Store in a cool, dry place in a sealed container. Unopened bags keep for about 24 months from the manufacture date printed on the bag.
Privacy
Velan Foods LLC collects the minimum it needs to sell you rice. Here is the whole list.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email, shipping address and phone number. Card details go straight to Stripe — they never touch our servers and we never see them.
- When you use a form: whatever you type into it, so we can reply.
- In your browser: your cart, stored locally on your own device. It is not sent anywhere until you check out.
What we do with it
Fulfil your order, answer your question, and meet our tax and food-import record-keeping obligations. That is all.
Who else sees it
- Stripe processes payments and sees your billing details. Their privacy policy applies to that.
- Carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS or a freight line) get your shipping address so they can deliver the box.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We do not add you to a marketing list because you bought something.
Your choices
Email info@velanfoods.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will do it within 30 days, minus anything we are legally required to keep.
Terms of sale
Prices are in US dollars and can change without notice; the price you see at checkout is the price you pay. Sales tax is calculated at checkout where applicable. Orders are subject to availability — if something is out of stock after you order, we refund it in full rather than substituting.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
